The lip stain, in my mind, is the most perfect of all lip-related inventions. More wearable than a lipstick, more long-lasting than tinted lip-balm and most of all devoid of all the stickiness that is synonymous with gloss; lip stains couldn't be easier to use. With just a few quick slicks from the mini paintbrush style applicator in frosty weather, this product takes you from zombified frost monster to a slightly pouty and blushing snow angel in no time...well kind of.
When shopping for christmas presents a few weeks ago, I was delighted to discover that it was time for my birthday gift from Sephora. I had no idea about this little free gifting situation so needless to say I was pleasantly surprised. My gift was a little duo of Benefit minis that included a mini 'They're real' mascara (here) and the above pictured sample of Benetint, the pleasantly rose-scented and tinted lip and cheek stain. Although the mascara is really good (also used in the above pictures), the lip tint just blew me away. I have always been quite a proponent of lip stains; however, the pleasant scent and perfectly rosy pigment of this one makes it a standout. I have just been applying this, pressing my lips together before following up with my favourite Nuxe Rêve de Miel lip balm (which I always stock up on when in Paris).
This lip stain is certainly the perfect solution for the days when you simply CBF or for those who (like me) prefer a really 'light on' approach to makeup; mine is certainly a 'less is more' type situation. I'll be sure to pick up the full-size when I run out of this mini as it is certainly a staple in my makeup bag.
