Although LA weather is not particularly winter woolies friendly at the moment (or ever), atop Sandstone Peak - the highest point of the Santa Monica Mountains - it can get kinda cold.
Before the holiday festivities drew us to snow and all things traditionally Christmas-y, we had developed quite a monday morning Malibu hiking tradition. The mountains all along the west coast north of LA are fairly vacant and provide the perfect getaway for a few hours in the sun. A good hike followed by lunch at the Paradise Cove Beach Cafe and a quick rest on the beach is the perfect way to start the week (especially if both your saturday and sunday were consumed by non-stop work, as mine were this weekend). I am certainly very glad to be getting back into this routine.
I'm loving a good turtleneck as much as ever at the moment, if the weather permits, even if it is just my boyfriend's borrowed sweater worn back to front. These reversible jeans (see the reverse side here) are super handy for situations that require one to pack light. I will certainly bring them to NY next month for an exciting design project/collaboration that I've been working on with a designer friend of mine from Australia - stay tuned for more updates on that project in the coming months. I can't wait to show you what I've been working on.
