(J Brand Textured Blazer (Similar), Reformation Willow Romper (Similar), Zara Heels (Similar), Chelsea Hat, Rings From Michael Kors, Maple (Newtown) and Mr Kate)

I am convinced that every woman and girl has been here.
Picture this; you stand before your closet, that is heaving and groaning under the weight of clothes unworn and neglected which can no longer be confined to hanging spaces and drawers. It (your living breathing clothing monster) has spilled out of the walk-in-wardrobe and has begun to slowly suffocate you one pair of once on-trend printed palazzo pants at a time. It has draped itself over desks, is obscuring your reflections in mirrors and has completely consumed your bed in a fold of multi-coloured fabrics of various textures and prints; but has also begun to manifest itself in an encroachment of your walking space i.e... the dreaded floordrobe.
It's time to take a deep breath and reach for the basics.
Like all good things my basic picks for this cloudy and rainy tuesday come in threes...
1. The Perfect Blazer
There are few things as versatile as the good old black blazer. Perfect paired with jeans, flats (or cons) and a white shirt for a casual day look, or dressed up over an LBD for a sophisticated night out. It is also equally as versatile for flying; when trying to convince everyone that contrary to popular belief, you have emerged unscathed from a gruelling 14 hour long haul flight. A pair of sunnies and a maxi dress and the universe is none the wiser to your less that perfect puffy eyes, knees and ankles. This J-Brand one has a less than classic texture which I like because it keeps things interesting.
2. LBD (Or in this case LBR- Little Black Romper)
I know I know, nothing beats the LBD, but this summer I have found that this reformation romper checks all the boxes when it comes to avoiding heatstroke and staying cool - double entendre intended. I wore this with a t-shirt when I didn't feel like risking exposure in public but there is something so ethereal about an open back.
3. Signature Sandals
Everyone has a pair this season - the strappy black heeled sandal. With so many styles and price points to choose from how can you go wrong. Simple, classic and perfect with anything. Whilst mine are only from Zara I am seriously tempted by:
These photos are beautiful. I am curious to know what kind of camera and lens you use.
