DOUBLED UP

(Ksubi Albuquerque Cutoffs in Heyday Meyday , Zara Tank Top, Pour la Victoirie 'Cailey' Sandals, UO Mirrored Aviator Sunglasses, Zara Messenger Bag, Cotton On L/S Shirt (Similar).

The start of September officially marks the first year anniversary of my being based in Los Angeles and it would seem that I am finally coming to terms with dressing like a Southern Californian!

I would say that its typical that I have finally worked out my ultimate LA summer uniform just as it is getting into fall but lets be real; thanks to the brilliant weather here in SOCAL, I am going to be wearing much the same thing for the next few months anyway. Doubled up denim seems perfect for the climate here as well as dealing with my #firstworldproblems - Farmer tan on the left side of my body as a result of driving with the window rolled down (thanks broken car AC for that one.) Cutoffs keep it cool while the button down stops me from burning to a crisp. I've also been loving these sunglasses from Urban Outfitters as they are the perfect lightweight and inexpensive pair to throw into your bag on the way to the beach.

On another note anyone looking for something to do in LA should consider heading to the Getty Centre. Picnic in the gardens + wandering the gallery = a pretty sweet day out.

MAKING NOISE + HAIRCUTS

After years and years of forking out ridiculous amounts of money for haircuts, I have finally bit the bullet and done my own. Well by 'hair cut' I just mean a trim but still I am happy that I was able to build up the courage to DIY. I figure that unless I really want a drastic style change, doing my own trims at home is a good way to save some money here and there. It's certainly nice to have shorter hair during the current heatwave in LA which is leaving me dreaming of a mild autumn in Australia. In the meantime however I am battling the heat by wearing as little as possible i.e. a barely there camisole and my go-to ksubi cutoffs.

KINGS ROAD

(Bershka Button Up, Ksubi Albuquerque Shorts, Zara Boots, Prada Bag, Miu Miu Sunglasses)

Blush tones seem less girly now that my hair is brown again (for those of you who don't know, I was once a blonde) and I am therefore finding myself tollerating pinks for the first time in my life.
I am currently trying to find a way to work them into my wardrobe without feeling like I am adopting a barbie-esque frame of mind. I guess that explains the tattered cut-offs and the biker boots.

No. 3

(Ksubi Channel Tee, Zara Pleated Lingerie Style Shorts and Sandals (similar), Robyn Rhodes Limited Edition Ring Sold Exclusively at M Dot Design Studios LA)

This is my last sunny sunday in Los Angeles for a month as I fly out to New York again on wednesday, this time for a longer stay. I have spent my last weekend day relaxing and soaking up this beautiful ninety degree weather in the most comfortable and free-flowing pyjama style outfit I could find.
Although I'm looking forward to being in New York again, it's no secret that I am going to sorely miss everything about Los Angeles but luckily thanks to my new friend Michelle at M Dot Design Studios, I have a little reminder of LA in the form of a M Dot Candle Travel Set. I'm looking forward to trying them all out after I land although I think that number three is my favourite so far.
I'm also trying to get my immune system back to a happy place after being sick for quite a while so I have taken to trying out this Immunity Tonic  from The Detox Market to try and get things back on track.
